Matamoros Youth Home Moves!
After five years in rented buildings with a small courtyard, Esperanza Viva Youth Home in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico moved to a spacious new home at the “Gateway,” a property owned by Adventures in Missions (AIM), now leased to our ministry.
The 18 children and their full-time, live-in caregivers are now enjoying wide-open spaces to play and a larger building better suited to their needs. The greatest feature of the new youth home location is the added security of being further outside the city of Matamoros, where drug-related violence has risen dramatically in the past two years.
We are grateful to God and to the faithful supporters who continue to sow into our work with the children of this dangerous border city. Our youth home is a light in a dark place in Mexico, and we pray that the Lord will use the testimony of rescuing the “hopeless” children, who we believe will be future leaders in their country.
